Michael began his musical training at age 6, performing in concert bands, marching bands, and wind ensembles. He studied with Robert W Smith for several years during his formative training. He began composing music with a band named “Borrowed Reality”, performing as a vocalist, drummer, and saxophone player. He released his first classical album “Windsong” in 2007 utilizing gigastudio and cakewalk sequencing software. He has written music in a broad array of styles. He currently utilizes Cubase, the EastWest Hollywood Orchestra Collection, and has written over 20 pieces scored to picture. Trained in both chamber and full orchestra scores, he has written several scores with performances and orchestration. His music has been described by Berklee faculty, including Eric Byers, Rick McLaughlin and Ben Newhouse as “beautiful”. He is particularly adept at hitting picture cuts and capturing the emotion and mood of a wide variety of scenes.
